Precision Brand 316 Stainless Steel Shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. Measures 6 wide by 50 long by 0.004 thick. Type 316 is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. Branded® shim is fully traceable and quickly identifiable - thickness, material type, and lot number are printed right on the shim material.
